Trifextra: Groundhog Hope

by RChicken on February 2, 2013

Today is Groundhog Day. By the time this posts, we’ll know if Phil has seen his shadow or not.

The cameras will have flashed.

The proclamations will have been made.

Consider this conversation the prologue to that moment.

“Do I have to?”

“C’mon, Honey. You work ONE day a year. People count on you.”

With a heavy sigh, he unlocked the burrow door.

“Phil? Give people some hope this year, eh?”

Trifecta asked for 33 words of dialogue.

The sun is shining here…whatever. Maine weather is what it is …whether you want it or not.

Thanks

So much pressure on the little guy, even if he does only work one day a year. :)

This was a unique perspective – and a subject I’ve not seen yet (but is perfect for today.) Nice writing!

Phil has a tough life. May only be one day, but the weight of the western world is on his shoulders. Glad this year he predicted an early spring.

I pictured him wearing a teeshirt that didn’t quite reach over his round furry belly.

That was really cute.

I think the groundhog should be my teenage son, if and when he gets out of bed, then we can see his shadow.

xo

GOOD TO SEE YOU!

Nice. I like it although groundhog day is very foreign to me! :)
