Five Minute Friday: Community

by RChicken on April 27, 2012

It’s Friday again, and time for another quick write based on a one word prompt from The Gypsy Mama.

This week’s word: Community

As an introverted extrovert (yes, tis true, that’s what I’ve decided I am), I need community.

In fact, even the most introverted people I know still need a community. It may be a quieter, less rambunctious crowd, but they need a few key people with whom to connect.

Humans are social animals. We live in communities because we need to have a need for social connection fulfilled.

And in my real life, community is clearly present: my schools, my family, my friends, my town.

In my blogging life, it hasn’t always been so clear. But it is today. I am a member of amazing writing and blogging communities.

The SITSGirls  give me support.

Studio30 Plus challenges me to be the best writer I can be.

My friends on Twitter offer friendship and fun.

Facebook followers offer their own unique perspectives.

And those people are just as important to my life as some of the ones I see every day.

So, if you’re a blogger feeling isolated, even if you’re an introvert, reach out…build that community, or find one where you feel welcome…and just be a part of it.

It’s like nothing else.

right on! sister! We are made for it and we should not feel right without it…and blogging communities are amazing, and done right, feed the ‘real life’ ones and vice versa:}

This was great! I would really miss my Internet friends if I just let it all go. Sometimes I think I want to get off-line, but then I remember posts like these and am inspired to stay!

I can relate to that. I am an introvert, yet there are moments that I long for the interaction with the people I love the most.

Sometimes community is very important even to us moms.. We can learn from more people like talking to them and sharing our experiences.. We can build strong relationship with people and learn from their experiences too..

Indeed! I never thought the world was so small until I started blogging. I get inspired, become creative , bond and learn from others posts and comments . What more, the experience become more rewarding when people drop by and simply tell me that they liked what they read. It really makes my day.
